This unique grape really shines here on the Leelanau Peninsula producing a lush, fruit forward wine ready to be consumed the moment it is bottled. Dry, complex, and great with seafood and white sauce pastas. Drink it now or over the next 2-3 years.
We hand harvested over 10 tons of Pinot Blanc on October 20th. The fruit was golden in color, incredibly clean, with tight, uniform clusters of very large berries. The fruit was destemmed and then gently pressed off. The juice was a beautiful light green color as it was moved to a stainless steel fermentor for settling and inoculation. Fermentation took several weeks and then the wine was settled and racked. It was cold stabilized, filtered and bottled in late January. Another unbelievble vintage of Pinot Blanc in the books!
