We are a family owned business creating exceptional wines from estate grown fruit on the spectacular Leelanau Peninsula in northern Michigan. Our journey began in 2006 when we planted our first acre of grapes in our vineyard affectionaly known as 'Frost Pocket.' From that point forward, we were hooked and today we have 40+ acres of estate grapes used to make over 20 different wines.
In 2017, 2018 and again in 2019 we had the honor of winning the Best Dry White wine in the State of Michigan. Twenty five judges awarded Verterra Winery the top award. In over thirty-five years of the Michigan Wine Competition no winery has won Best Dry White in consecutive years, let alone in 3 consecutive years.
